About Bite-Free Nights
Andreas Hoffmann
Licensed pest-management technician, 14 years in the field
I buy every unit myself, run it for a full season, and report what actually keeps mosquitoes off your skin.
Bite-Free Nights exists because insect-control products are unusually easy to sell badly. The category is full of relabelled generic hardware, invented voltage specs and coverage claims measured in laboratory conditions nobody's garden resembles. We buy the units, hang them where a real household would hang them, and run them for a season.
How we score
Each product gets a score out of ten built from five weighted components: real-world bite reduction (40%), placement freedom and portability (20%), safety around children and pets (15%), verified owner feedback volume and rating (15%), and value against the price you actually pay (10%).
How we verify prices
Every price, list price, star rating and review count shown for a marketplace product is read from that product's canonical retailer page on a dated check, and the raw record is published in our source audit file. We do not estimate, round or carry over stale figures. Prices change; the retailer page at the moment of purchase is always the authority.
Independence
We earn affiliate commission when a reader buys through our links, and that funds the testing. No brand pays for placement, sees a review before publication, or has any right of reply over a ranking. When a top pick has a genuine drawback — such as being available only through the manufacturer's own checkout — we say so on the page where it is ranked.
